Jordan School District (Utah) Annual Enumeration of School Population 1905-1979

This series contains a census of the students in the Lark precinct of the Jordan School District in 1918. The records were created in order to collect data on the school-age population in the district in accordance with the legal mandate found in the "Compiled Laws of Utah, 1907", section 1891x13. The enumerator recorded information on pre-printed forms. The information includes the names of the enumeration district and the the enumerator, as well as the children's names, age, if they can read and write, if they attended public, private, or no school the previous year, if they were "colored" or "white", and if they were deaf or blind. Notes were added (probably the following year) indicating if a child and moved or died. A check mark presumably indicated that the child was still part of the local school population.
